Description: The Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie is an architectural complex, with its heart lying in its integral refectory - begun in 1463 in Milan and revised by Bramante at the end of the 15th century. An unrivalled masterpiece adorns the refectory’s northern wall - The Last Supper, painted by Leonardo da Vinci between 1495 and 1497; Da Vinci’s work prefigured a new age in the history of art. --WHMNet paraphrase from the description at WHC Site, where additional information is available.
Santa Maria delle Grazie is a famous church in Milan, included in the UNESCO World Heritage sites list. The church is also famous for the mural of the Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci, which is in the refectory of the convent. --Wikipedia.
